Privacy policy

Last updated

The short version

  • No accounts, no sign-ups, no newsletter. We never sell data.
  • We set no cookies of our own.
  • Your preferences (theme, rate unit, recent searches, favourites) stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
  • Ads are served by Google, which may use cookies. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent first; in US states with privacy laws you can opt out.

Who we are

Alchemy Factory Recipes is an unofficial fan site for Alchemy Factory, run by an individual fan. Questions about this policy: contact@alchemyfactoryrecipes.com.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel processes your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Logs are kept briefly under Vercel's privacy policy.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure loading speed. They use no cookies and do not follow you across sites; Vercel identifies a visit with a short-lived hash that is discarded within a day. We only see totals (which pages are popular, how fast they load).

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Ads are provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technology to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, and, where you allow it, to personalise them to your interests. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's privacy policy.

  • EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland: Google's consent message (a certified consent platform) asks before any advertising cookies are used. Until you choose, ad storage and personalisation are off (Google Consent Mode).
  • Elsewhere: ads may be personalised by default. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we request non-personalised ads only. In US states with privacy laws you can opt out of the “sale or sharing” of your data for ads (see US state privacy rights).
  • We only use manual ad placements: no pop-ups, full-screen ads or automatic ad placement. More in Why ads?

US state privacy rights

If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for targeted advertising. We don't sell personal information for money, but letting Google use cookies to personalise ads can count as selling or sharing under these laws, so you can switch it off:

  • Use “Do not sell or share my personal information” in the footer. It appears only for visitors in those states who haven't opted out yet, and opens Google's confirmation dialog. Once you confirm, Google stops personalising ads for you on this site. Your choice is saved in this browser, so repeat it on other browsers or after clearing site data.
  • Turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser also works: we then request non-personalised ads only.
  • If you don't see the link, no US state law applies where you are, you have already opted out, or your browser blocks Google's ad script (then no ad data reaches Google from this site).

You also have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data (see Your rights), and we will never treat you differently for using any of these rights.

Stored in your browser

To remember your settings we use your browser's local storage (not cookies): theme, rate unit (per minute or per second), recent searches and favourite items, plus a per-session note if you close an ad bar. This data never leaves your device. Clear it any time in your browser's site settings.

Your choices

  • Change ad consent (EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland): use “Privacy choices” in the footer or Google's “Privacy and cookie settings” link to reopen the consent message.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing (US states): use “Do not sell or share my personal information” in the footer or turn on Global Privacy Control; see US state privacy rights.
  • Ad personalisation anywhere: manage it at My Ad Center, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.
  • Block cookies or ads: your browser settings and content blockers work fine here; every page still loads.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or US state laws such as the CCPA) you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of personal data, object to processing, withdraw consent and complain to your data protection authority. We hold no personal data about you beyond the hosting logs above; for advertising data, Google is the controller. Contact contact@alchemyfactoryrecipes.com and we will help.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 13 (16 in some EU countries) and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top.
